melted spark plug

has anyone ever heard of a spark plug melting itself into the head of the 1.4 tsi engine cause it has just happened to mine and i cannot understand how the engine could get so hot to do this while all temperature gauges were reading normal, i though it was just a coil away when it started miss-firing turns out the whole engine needs stripped and rebuilt(under warranty lucky ) if anyone knows anything about this i would love to hear

Quite common to have bad plugs but not as extreme as your case. Vw fitted wrong plugs from factory. Plenty of threads on briskoda about this.

sorry its not melted into the head it has melted the end of and there is no compression in the bore

yup, wrong plugs fitted by vw. read some threads on briskoda
