Congrats on ordering a BlueGT. :) I'm waiting for mine aswell.

The tests are true enough. you really don't notice when it switches two cyliders off unless you really concentrate on it.

Hi Faye
I have had mine now for 1700 miles and am achieving only 47mpg so yes the Honest John figures seem about right. However, most people in the know would tell you that mpg should improve as the car gets a few more miles on it. My last Golf certainly did by about 10% after 5000 miles or so.

I would like to add that according to most the 2cyl mode works between 1400-4000 rpm. I note that my BlueGT does not work 2cyl mode above 2500rpm. Is this a fault I wonder?

In respect to your comment about the "seamless shift" between 2 and 4 cyl mode. No I wouldn't say it is seamless, without looking at the display you can feel a very slight hic as the car switches (noticeable from 4 to 2 but not the other way round). However, it isn't tiresome.

Hard to pick up the engine tone between the two, in realty I only know when got fuel consumption screen on as that is where it says if you are on 2 cylinders

Thanks for the info ref ACT cyl transition, good that it is not too annoying if not totally seamless in operation. I am advised end of June for car collection after deflect from Demo so I will have some experience myself after this!

used the Edition 35 for my commute to London today for the first time since I got the Blue GT, filled it up tonight and £25 (thirst for super) whereas the Blue GT is costing me £12-£15 a day, car pretty much pays for itself in what it saves in fuel

Wish I could afford to run both GTI and Blue GT but sadly not, bet the Ed35 is a lovely drive, my regular Mk6 GTI is a pleasure to drive on all but the worst potholed roads when it can start to feel a bit harsh. Still, I am looking forward to Blue GT ownership in the very near future!

As I said in an earlier thread I recently traded my mk6 Golf GTi for a Blue GT. Performance wise the difference is barely noticeable, handling wise the Blue GT is inferior. However, you will find that the ride comfort is better on the Polo due in part to smaller wheels and slightly softer suspension set up.

If you have the ACC on your GTI, think of comfort mode plus a little softer.

That's good to know, thanks. I never had ACC but I welcome a softer ride plus I rarely push on any longer due to traffic, cameras, police, accidents, pot holes and all the other crud that goes with our roads now! :?

Mine has finally arrived at the dealers so I'll pick it up on Saturday. I still haven't seen one in the flesh so I hope I like it!

I haven't seen a white one yet. It will be different.
Multi Function Steering Wheel is the top of the options list in my opinion
