Mfsw, something I plan on having in the future! Do you have any plans for any extras or accessories or modifications? I think I will put the tail pipe trims on and maybe upgrade the headlamp bulbs if required.

I also fancy the tail pipe trims but don't want to pay £50 for them. I'll hang off and see what other folks do! No plans to do anything else to it tho, wouldn't even know where to start if I did!

Until I take delivery I don't really know what personalisation if any I will do. I like the alloy effect pedals like the R line and GTI but I am unsure as to cost and ease of fitment. Another post on this forum describes the pedals and it would appear that the throttle pedal is a right pain to fit!

The alloy pedals are very easy to fit. It's just the rubber on your pedals you remove and replace with the alloy ones.

I've done it in my previous Golf Mk 3 and Polo 6N2 GTI and on a friends Polo 6R TDi last friday aswell. :)

Thanks Martin, I will definitely include the pedals onto my personalisation programme if they are both straightforward to fit and not too steeply priced!

Cheers. I wasn't sure if I'd made the right choice with the wheels but from the Configurator I thought the anthracite ones might have more 'depth'. They look alright I think : )
It does look good in white. The Anthracite wheels are the only choice with white in my opinion. Shame VW didn't offer black as that is the proper combo with white.

PS How do you add pics? I want to show mine off too.

I have tried to fit the aftermarket pedals this afternoon, the accelerator cover is too small (about 2cm too short) to fit over the existing one. Do you need the larger GTi pedal cover instead?

I didn't have any problems with the accelerator pedal...

Her is a pic of them mounted:

Hey guys, new member from Norway here. Found this thread googling the BlueGT, read thru the whole thing and I really like the atmosphere here so far.
Beginning of May I placed my order for a 5dr candy white bluegt dsg. Having ridiculous taxes for weight, emission and horsepower, I decided look to other countries and detailing my search to where the currency vs NOK was the weakest. Ended up ordering through a dealer in denmark. Car is locked to production in week 25, so that meens delivery at 8th-14th of july.
Car specs are as following; Xenon, RCD510 (I like the looks of the bigger screen), rain sensor, lights package, foglights, dipping rear view mirror, alarm, media-in, curtain airbags, winter pack. Yeah I think thats about it. Car is so well equipped as standard!

Loving the looks of the car, seen it a couple of times in the flesh. Cant wait to get mine. Drove the new golf with this exact engine, and it was superb. Having owned a B6 1.8tq A4 chipped to 225bhp I never wanted to get a car just for the looks sacrificing performance. This is the perfect mix. Also I think I'll see some significant improvements in regards of consuption lol.

Some questions to the guys already drivng their new bluegt.
- I saw your pictures, and it seems there some space to be filled in the arch. Will I have problems fitting 18" alloys with 225 tires on this?
- How is the noise insulation? I really like my music, and having driven my friends 2009 A3 the past weeks, I really need to crank the volume to block engine/road noise. Is the stock speakers of the bluegt adequate?

Thank you in advance. Hope to use this forum as a day to day knowlege base!

Cheers

Welcome :) Nice to see other Scandinavians here. :) I'm from Denmark myself.

I haven't got my BlueGT yet. (It was actually first build yesterday). But I'm gonna try to answer some of your questions anyway.

In regards to wether or not you can fit 18", then yes you can. In fact the Polo R WRC has 18" wheels as stock and a lot of guys have put 18's on their Polo 6R's.

Noise wise Polo's have never been the best noiseinsulated car... But not the worts either. I think it would be a good idea to fit additional insulation if you wan't a really quite ride... But I have no problem living with the noise level as it is. :)

Just wanted to comment on the noise level of the Polo, I find mine extremely refined and the only noise that ever enters in road noise, but now I'm running on Vredestein Sportrac 5 this has been reduced too! Wind noise was a problem at the start but I had the door realigned and it is fine now. Mines the TDI too.

Had a 5 door manual gearbox in blue silk for a week not done much in miles so far, at this moment in time a little unsure about it, the stop start takes a little getting used, I have been switching it off every now and again, but that seems to be send the on board mpg reading all over the place.

My air con is not working either which is a bit frustrating, the fan is also running all the time on it. Had it back at the dealers yesterday they have booked it in just over a weeks time to try to rectify the problems.

I have tried to suss what it is doing to the gallon i worked out roughly 60 miles on just under a gallon and half.bit away from what the manufacturer states. But it is early days. Plus until i get maybe a 1000 miles or so on the clock I wont be driving it to any extreme measures. Not that the roads in this country allow that. The car is comfortable pleasant to drive reasonably quite as well. But with two problems ticked up already or just a week old. you keep your fingers crossed it is not the spanish version of the friday night car.

Welcome to the forum Daniel6000. I hope you enjoy your BlueGT. In my opinion the stereo system is perfectly good enough. I would doubt you will need to max the volume even at high speed.
Incidentally, does the BlueGT come with multi function steering wheel as standard in Scandanavia?
