Engine wire tuck/clean up and battery relocation

Post by cooz93 »

So considering doing a small engine bay clean up, hide fuel filter, relocate battery, move coolant expansion tank etc. I have ideas for the filter and battery.. But what about the coolant tank? Where can I put that? Also what is the small globe thing, next to oil filter in front of the engine?
This is how the bay looks now.. Any tips/ideas/suggestions are more than welcome!! Thanks in advance

I like the carbon wrapped belt cover and vac box, nice touch :)

Not entirely related but if you're interested in your engine bay how about adding Audi R8 oil and coolant caps? They look pretty sweet IMO

Cheers mate! Ye they do look good, aren't they quite expensive though? Hoping to delete the expansion tank aswel so would just get the engine one.. Where'd you get them?

The oil cap isn't too bad, awesome gti sell them.

The coolant cap is about £60 though

Could I relocate my violent reservoir to where my SMIC use to be? Or does the height relevant to the radiator matter?

Here's a thread with some good info

If it were me I'd just paint it matt black or something to make it less noticable, but keep a vertical gap somewhere so I could still read the level.

Think I'm just going to relocate it to somewhere less obvious, maybe where smic was or tucked under the headlights somewhere! Will update in a week or 2 when I decided:)

Coolant tank needs to be the highest point in the system.
