Polo pd130 decat

Post by cooz93 »

Recently booked my car in for a remap, (end of July) and the guy was going on about fitting a decat would make a noticeable difference. I already have a hybrid turbo, forge FMIC, egr delete and also EGr delete.

What everyone's opinion on fitting a decat to an otherwise standard system?
Difference in noise? ( I don't want it to sound stupid and loud)
Performance?
Smoke out the back?
Has anyone else had experience with this?

Opinions/views/advice would be great!:)
Thanks in advance.

Get it done lad! It's just another restrictive part of the system that you don't want lol

Noise wise - it's mainly turbo whistle. They say it spools up faster but I've never noticed the difference.

The smoke out the back is really dependant on your mapper.

Overall tho, it's a cheapish mod. Every little helps!

I am tempted as its really the last part I can do except interals etc.
And like you say pretty cheap.
It doesn't sound any louder on idle or anything?

What decat did you purchase?

It just whistles a bit. Nothing special really..

I first just had a straight bit of pipe put in (thats all you need).. But then had another fabricated along with the downpipe for the new turbo.

Id say, get a full system. The standard one is a bit of a pea shooter!
