Hi folks, just picked up a 1997 1.4 CI 5-door on Saturday. Spur of the moment buy, it was posted on gumtree that day - 20minutes later I was driving it home.
Anyway... Just giving it a once over, I opened and closed the sunroof and noticed the seal lifted with the glass. I pushed it back into place but water is now seeping in and dripping on the drivers seat.
Anyone know if this seal clips or sticks to anything, just seems to be sitting around the rim loosely - does it go on the glass or the roof? When shut the seal LOOKS to be forming a seal against the glass but it can't be watertight. Are new seals readily available?

Re: Sunroof Seal
The seals have a metal grip that securs to the underside of the sunroof
They aren't fully water right though will stop most water. Any other water should end up down the sunroof drains
They are about £54 for a new one from vw, that is, if its a factory fit one.

cheers for that, yeh theres not much getting in - the cars sitting on a slope at the moment and only in torrential rain I've noticed a few drips. will have a closer look this weekend.
