Picked up the wife's Blue GT yesterday and also noticed that the driver side front part of the skirt was coming away from the body work as well - poor bonding it seems. Pointed it out to the dealer and said that has to be a record, 1st warranty claim within 5 minutes of ownership.

That is just not good enough. Surely, that should have been spotted on the PDI?

Could the skirt have been damaged during the PDI, putting the car on a ramp, lifting it perhaps? I have had a new skirt on my R-Line, it went into the dealer for a brake related issue when I went to collect the car mysteriously the skirt had come away. I still believe it came away when the car was lifted on the ramp. Dealer would not give me an explanation just repaired it under warranty.

Lifeshine. Now there's an interesting discussion. Is it worth the expense?

The way I look at it is the £1000 deposit pays for it I also like the fact that if I have a stain they clean it off

Very happy with mine after a week and 500 km. The only thing, if any, is I can feel a very small "something" when the ACT is going from 2 to 4 cylinders, when I'm going below 70/80 kph. It's really not that clearly, but its there never the less. Feels maybe like air or water in the fuel...

From 4 to 2 there is not the same change.

This slight nudge you feel when 2 cylinders switch to 4 is quite normal. I think you can be confident that over the next year or so VW will iron this out in future developments.

I've set a challenge to keep 2 cyl mode running as much as possible. This requires extensive use of the cruise control I find.

Is that by choice or because of a fault?

It was a fault in the radio its self. You turned it on and after you turned it on, would play the radio station on dab for about 1 minute or shorter and then it would go silent then the no signal symbol showed then it would just come back on then be ok. Since the new radio has been put in it's how it should be.

Mine passed the 5,000 mark yesterday on a weekend blast to Brussels covering 500 miles in the process, longest run its been on and wife of me were really impressed with performance and comfort

On the continent it was very happy at sitting at 100+ for an hour without heomoraging fuel and was nice to use the rev range for the spirited stuff, peak torque in 6th is well suited to motorway work as well

Today had cruise set on 70 up to the midlands and just savoured 50-55mpg in 2 cylinder mode

Have booked my R-Line in this Friday with the same fault. Popped in to my dealer today technician took a look and did some tests on it but all came back okay, going to investigate further Friday. I have also had the radio switch itself on, and also play without any display.

How did you get on at your dealers, have they replaced your radio or said it's normal like they did to me at first?
