Oh and my side sills/skirts are coming off too in places.. you notice it when wax gets in the gap areas. Just not flush to the body work. Not impressed.

Re: Wife's new Polo Blue GT arrives (Long post - Pic heavy)
I have had the chrome tips fitted by my dealer weeks back. After looking at this post and other ones about these ones ( 6R0253825) for the blue GT, I looked at mine again and noticed that mine haven't be fitted properly-clear gap to been seen, not snug as shown in this forum. I have had a look and underneath the tips it states the correct part number, so I am hoping i can just tap them into place myself. However i see 2 clips at the bottom which look pretty snug already on the actual exhaust pipe, so wondered if tapping in the chrome tips would snap them off, or push them under? was this something you saw Norbreck21a? and then continued to tap them in to place?

With regards to the exhaust tips, yes, the inner pipes fit snugly up to the end of the chrome pipes, no gap. As Wigit has already said, they just need a tap with a rubber mallet and something to protect the chrome work. The claws you can see go under and around the inner pipes.

That is so gorgeous and I love the modifications you've done to it, subtle changes that really make a difference! I'd be interested in removing the Bluemotion badge (why call it a BlueGT and then put Bluemotion GT on the back?)
I have to wait til October now for mine but if it looks half a good as your wife's car, I'll be a very happy lady indeed!

they have indeed Alex. Fitted them last night (took about 20 minutes top - no tools required) - Genuine VAG parts.
Brake pedal cover just pulls over and the new one slip son instead (using a few drops of washing up liquid helps). the accelerator pedal just slips over the existing one. Nothing too hard really.
Got mine from here and they arrived in 3 days.

I'll get some photos up later.

Also completed the wiring of the fog lights (bit of a mare of a job but deeply satisfying when done). Look how yellow the standard VW bulbs are in comparison with he LED's. Some whiter bulbs going in soon.

Thank you for this link for the pedal covers. I ordered same for manual version and they have indeed arrived in 4 days. Fitting has taken about 15 minutes. Accelerator pedal was dead easy. Brake needed a little persuasion and washing up liquid. However, clutch pedal was more of a pain to stretch over. Eventually managed with brut force and a large flat screwdriver to ease the fit.Norbreck21a wrote:they have indeed Alex. the accelerator gives you a false sense of easiness, i had trim tools and some cursing, can't believe the clutch pedal is plastic lol, took a while to get brake sitting straight, car feels much better as i'm no longer slippingGarfy wrote:Thank you for this link for the pedal covers.
