If you've got the RCD510 and the MFSW, then it should be pretty easy to fit 'proper' Bluetooth, like the kind you get in the Golf. Tell the dealer not to bother with the ugly Bury thing. The proper system can be expensive though, but fully integrates into the head unit and the dash display.

You mean like this (just fitted it to the wife's new Polo)

We also asked the dealer not to fit the bury kit (it is dealer kit anyway, not at the factory), but instead supply it unfitted, so we could keep it for when the car gets sold, the next buyer would no doubt be expecting bluetooth of some description. So we have a brand new bury kit, complete with all harnesses etc, sat in my garage unfitted :D

Just fittet Foglights to my BlueGT...

Makes a world of difference to the front end. :) (They aren't wired up yet...)
Also covered the VW badge in black gloss vinyl. Looks great with the paintet grill :) (will get a picture of it later. :)

Nice one Martin. Dead easy job isn't it, and hugely rewarding.

My dealer has said that they can get a company they use to fit the Bluetooth module to my RCD510 and MFSW for £300 fitted, does this sound good? I'm amazed they out source it to someone else!

Yes, £300 original unit supplied and fitted. I've seen them on ebay for £170-£200, I'd be happy to fit it but then i'd need it coded with VCDS, so I've figured, even though £300 is a lot just to add Bluetooth it will already be fitted and ready when I collect the car from new. on top of that I might be able to sell the Bury unit!

I've been cheating on the Blue GT this weekend as had a mk7 GTI on test which has considerably moved the game on from the 5 and 6

Image

picked the GT up from the dealer this morning and expected to have the hollow feeling you sometimes get but no as its just ticks the box for what i wanted it for and felt surprisingly nippy given the lack of weight

Image

also fitted the metal pedals which took about 15 mins with the use of some trim tools to ensure they fitted correctly, brightened up the cabin and nicer underfoot

Damn the MK7 GTI looks brilliant, more wide and aggressive looking. Can't wait for mine to arrive BW37 :D

Just a thought.... Does anyone know if I ask the dealership, will they debadge it for me before I pick it up?

I'd want the 'Bluemotion' badge taken off the back as it's pointless, just leaving the GT badge, but I'd rather not do it myself, just in case I ruin my brand new car. I know some manufacturers offer the option, but can't see it anywhere in VWs literature....

It used to be possible to select VW's debadged fromthe factory so I don't see why they shouldn't be able to help you. It' s only a 5 minut job after all.

I will say that I have seen a black BlueGT with the POLO and BLUEMOTION badges removed.
I must say I didn't think it looked very good at all...

I however had an idea of leaving the BLUEMOTION badge on and remove the GT instead. :)
Just to fool unsuspecting boy racers. ;)

Like i did to this picture:
