6R GTI

Post by flyfs6 »

Hello All.

I am starting to look out for a 5dr 6R GTI and I'd like the digital climate control, xenons, convenience pack, passenger air bag deactivation and sat nav. I understand that sat nav is a relatively easy retrofit ... 315/510 (factory installed 315 only I think)?

I am probably going to need to look a up to year old car with a budget of circa £15k. I'd like some guidance in what to look out for when viewing a used 6R GTI? Whats the cloth upholsterly like to live with, they look a bit tacky in the photos. Is the GTI still not supplied with a spare wheel? I'm aware of higher oil consumption and turbo related issues.

I have owned a 9n3 GTI 5dr and that was a cool small hatchback to live with, but it had almost every conceivable option available at the time and it was mildly modified for drivability and handling :D

There pretty much spot on mate in all areas.....Interior is a joy to be in. Exterior is stunning with great build quality which im sure you're aware.

I was going to mention the oil issue (but you already have) but would advise you to get the later revision of the engine (Code - CTHE i believe)

This has the "Revised Parts" fitted as standard and will be less likely to drink oil.....not a 100% guarantee but less likely.
