The pedals covers defo make the difference, nice addition.

Was about get round to tapping the chrome tips into place, but they look misaligned to me so am concerned about doing so(they were fitted by the dealer) . See images attached to show what i mean. Looking at them its as if the tips are no where near going to sit flush with the exhaust- the tips aren't close enough esp at the top, wondering if the clips have been damaged when they were put on. Looking at photos on this forum of chrome tips on blue GT's mine are are not how it should look!

esp this one, see the gap:

You need to push them all the way on so the pointy taps don't show... They are what holds the exhaust tips on...

Thanks for that, its just that Norbreck21a's images show the fit being pretty snug and b0rk also mentions the fit being flush, as there is such a gap at the top on both of mine i am hesitant incase they look even worse and you see the inner exhaust at the rim of the tips when tapped on. The clips at the top aren't clipped to the exhaust so that why i was wondering if they had been put on incorrectly to begin with ( if poss) are they easy enough to pull of and start again or not advisable?

Yes, deffo put on poorly. As the metal clasp hasn't gone underneath as it should, it might be possible for you to rotate the trims by hand (might be a little stiff). Then tap them home using a block of wood, and as Martin rightly says, the metal "claws" should go underneath the original pipes which will allow the trims to butt up fully with the ends of the original pipes.

Very poor that from a VW dealer, that's why I always do these things myself.

i hope you didn't pay the dealer to fit those as that is shocking, i actually used a but of detailing tape do i could mark the centre, they are fairly easy to move in that position as they are not fully secured

dealer really needs to go to spec savers

No i didn't.They had made a previous error so wasn't charged at all for these. Well its all done now, taken off and put back on correctly! look as they should, so thanks for all the advice everyone. However now driving home have noticed puddles of water under the car on the drive after pulling up. Looks like either the water coolant is spilling or the air conditioning is leaking... will have a proper look later as i cant be bother with it right now.....arrhhh!

If you have had your air conditioning on today, then it quite normal for the condensate to drip off the evaporator and leave a small pool under the car. Might be nothing to worry about ?

Yep perfectly normal for the puddle of water, my car does it too. I even had roadside assistance out for it lol

I love this car!

fantastic pictures and detailing!

I'm waiting to pick mine up next Sunday :D (registered as 63 so gotta wait!)

one question I must ask is about the stereo (and Bluetooth). Mine currently has the 310 head unit and i'm about to change to the 510, with the Bluetooth box so that I may have full functionality like yours. (dying to have A2DP!). my question is, which head unit is that you have there?

love the little mods like under seat storage and tailpipes! think i'll have to order them. was gutted I couldn't see the tailpipe trims on the cars and thought they had been dropped from the original showing of the blueGT at Geneva/Frankfurt (or wherever it was first displayed!)

also do you have the arm-rest? im wondering weather to get one but still un-decided as im not sure if it is going to be too bulky and get in the way of the hand brake.

not sure if my first reply posted so apologies if this is a repost!

First of all I love this car!

some excellent detailing there and stunning pictures.
I'm going to pick mine up next sunday  although its at the dealers now I have to wait until the 1st as its been registered as a 63 plate

the little OEM mods you've done are perfect! i'm very interested in getting the under-seat storage compartments after seeing those! and also the tailpipe covers. I was gutted that they weren't standard after seeing them on the car that was unveiled at the motor shows, I thought they had ditched the nicer pipes so am glad to see that the tips may be purchased as parts :) mine doesn't have the Xenon lights though which has me a little gutted but something i'm sure i'll get over!

one question I must ask though.... my polo currently has the 310 head unit. ive asked the dealer not to fit the aftermarket looking Bluetooth 'solution' and am going to have them fit a 510 head unit with the Bluetooth module box. this seems to be the way to go as to have full Bluetooth functionality with my phone, and im hoping A2DP audio streaming? my main question though, is what head unit is that? is it the 510? & if not what is it and how is it different!? I want to make sure I don't miss out on a better option if appropriate and viable (cost wise) for me.

very jealous of your wifes car at present!

Thanks,
Craig

Craig,

Head unit in the wife's car is currently the RCD-510, but when my new GTD Golf arrives (towards the end of September), ill be removing the RNS-510 Nav unit from my current a scirocco, and dropping it into the Polo.

Well, final piece of the puzzle got sorted today with the fitment of the RNS-510 Navi unit out of my Scirocco (in anticipation of the Golf GTD arrive in the next couple of weeks at the dealers). Not too hard and fully coded in by VCDS.

Well happy - and now a properly specced car :D

Nice! I was wondering when you'd fit that in. 630 miles? Pfffft we do that kind of mileage in a week, it isn't getting driven enough! ;)

Excellent! Good work and appearance. It is the first change I made directly when I got my r-line at the dealership and I also had it installed in another car.

Nice pictures. 8)
