Polo Blue GT
Re: Polo Blue GT
I agree GT badge only looks best. When I ordered mine I asked the dealer if I could order it debadged. The answer was no.

Re: Polo Blue GT
Ok, well I'll ask them but not just yet, the poor saleswoman's had several emails from me already in the past 2 weeks asking random questions.
I know the car has had the build date scheduled, but when that is I don't yet know.... so it's a while off getting debadged! lol

Re: Polo Blue GT
I just have GT on mine, like its bigger sibling the GTI! It looks really clean and uncluttered but still shows what the car is capable of. Personally i think the bluemotion badge is such an ugly design, but thats just me! As with the GTI some painted callipers would have been nice too! My dealer removed the badges for me, so ask and yours may do it. Make sure they don't scratch the paint though as that was a downer...but all repainted and polished so like it should be now.

Re: Polo Blue GT
Has anyone thought about remapping their blue gt?
Re: Polo Blue GT
not really felt the desire to have a remap on the GT as it defeats the purpose for me as car is kept standard so i don't get mullered on insurance etc
that said i'd be interested how cylinders get on with mapping with the deactivation, in reality a bit of extra mid range is always useful but i don't want to tune it to death

Re: Polo Blue GT
I was loaned my dealerships a 2600 mile old demonstrator for a 3 day trip, a good will gesture (and possibly a little pro-active salesmanship going on) due to a very long delay in getting my car repaired. I managed to get well over 60mpg on the motorway and 58mpg average. That was up until I took it on a blast on some of my favoured back roads, at which point the fuel economy dropped like a stone. So it's capable of good economy figures but does rely on the driver being restrained with their right foot.AJ_7 wrote:Surprised about the MPG figures people are quoting on this thread, 48-52 seems pretty poor after all the hype about this engine.
Re: Polo Blue GT
Had an ECU update on Polo Blue GT today, just part of open campaign, not a recall. To correct a fuel measurement issue so the technician told me.

Re: Polo Blue GT
To me, that's not surprising. It still requires a certain amount of fuel to produce 140PS! The advantage these modern turbo engines have is when you're not using the power. When you're hooning it, it'll use as much fuel as a NA 1.8 or whatever. But when you're cruising on the motorway, or in traffic, the boost drops off, and you're puttering along with a 0.7 litre engine, hardly using any fuel at all. As much as it would be lovely to have the engine getting 60mpg all the time, physics gets in the way a bit.techathy wrote:I was loaned my dealerships a 2600 mile old demonstrator for a 3 day trip, a good will gesture (and possibly a little pro-active salesmanship going on) due to a very long delay in getting my car repaired. Re: Polo Blue GT
Finally have a build date scheduled for my BlueGT - Week 40 (first week of October). Apparently that's still on schedule for an October delivery. I feel like sending the factory some go-faster stripes!

Re: Polo Blue GT
But we should still get them at around the same time as mine will be a 3-4 week wait after week 40, whereas you have a 5-6 week wait after week 38 (which is odd, but I think you have more optional extras than I do?) Basically we'll still both be looking at on or before the Week 44 mark.Jason6003 wrote:The factory has got some go faster stripes, I've been given a week 38 build weekFinally have a build date scheduled for my BlueGT - Week 40 (first week of October). that's a 2 week difference when we ordered them a day apart!!
I'm starting sweepstakes at work for the actual date of delivery. Winner gets a 5 minute drive in the new car.... lol

Re: Polo Blue GT
from built to at the dealers was pretty quick for mine, will be worth the wait
testament to the Blue GT is that my wife keeps 'borrowing' it for work and her mk5 GTI hasn't moved for a couple of weeks
still can't believe how few i have seen on the road
