Help with A2DP - RNS 510 and Kufatec Fiscon Basic +

Gents maybe not the correct section but as its related to the latest POLO model maybe it will be ok to post here...


So i have a 2012 GTI that had a RCD 510 from the factory in it but no BT installed... When i got it from the dealers son I asked them to instal bluetooth modul in it BUT one that has the A2DP functionality... they advised me the Kufatec Fiscon Basic + ( KU36496) Kufatec site sais supports A2DP and AVRCP profiles. SW version on the Kufatec BT modul it looks to be the latest one.

The phone and related functions worked but A2DP was a partial success. When I say partial I mean IT WORKS but does not display any song data on the RCD 510 neither there is the ability to control the playback on the RCD 510 (forward and back buttons are greyed out)... ONLY way to SWAP songs is via MFI in the KUFATEC section of the menus... but getting there is to many clicks to use it regularly... so what i think is A2DP works but AVRCP is where I have a problem... I am using an iPHONE 5S... but did try also with 5,4s and and HTC ONE no GO spo far...

In the meantime I swapped out the RCS 510 and installed the lattes RNS 510 with LED display (P) version HW... VAG recoded the car to get the compass and directions in MFI but the AVRCP issue is still there...

What am i doing wrong or not doing... anyone with similar setup and faced this and solved it? Advise needed

Thats how it works with the Fiscon Basic +

Controlling the songs is done from the MFD only and cant be done on the head unit

Hi Alex and thank you for your response.

So the problem is with the Kufatec and their non compatibility of the AVRCP and RNS 510...
Annoying to say the least as they do advertise AVRCP support with the BASIC+ Model that by the looks of it they don't deliver!

PS... I wrote an email to their support team a couple of weeks ago that they did not respond to... so much for after-sales support

OK then so what modul to get for my RNS 510 to gain this connectivity?

The AVRCP is only available on the MFD, so as such, it does do it, just not through the RNS screen.

You would need the genuine VW bluetooth kit from a Mk5/Mk6/Mk7 Golf/Passat or similar to get this working as you want it to.

OK got it cheers Alex.

So need to make a decision how bad i want this functionality or basically a piece of it... as u said it works just not the way i envisioned it.

So i have 2 options:

1. Leave it be as is and focus on my other planed mods like adding OEM Seat Heating, OEM Auto lights, Oem Backup Camera Mod, Shark fin antenna to name some.
2. Pull out the Kufatec... resell it or gift it to my parents in LAW and install it to their Mk6 Golf with RCD 510 and get the OEM BT from VW.

I know the right answer is option 1 and for now i think ill leave it be... but its that perfectionism that u see a lot on this here boards that will want me to scratch that itch down the road
