Window problem again 9n3

Post by shawnged »

Windows aren't going down again, i disconnected the battery and still no life from the main drivers controls but the passenger one comes down when you use the passenger switch. I'm quite baffled as to what the problem is. Someone help?

try this, with the igntion on or car started

If u have 4 elec windows - hold up the right hand side switches (front&rear) for 5 seconds - repeat with left side switches (fron&rear)

If 2 electric windows - Hold both switches up for 5 seconds

then try and see if it works

No still no luck with that mate , cheers though worth a try seems as though I'll have to investigate deeper in to the electrics.

Before I brought my gti the bloke had the wiring connection in the door replaced as the passenger window didn't work.. Could be that the wires are corroded and need replacing..

Not sure where the wires where replaced maybe in the rubber boot between the door and body?

Maybe try that?

I'd say maybe the switch has spanked in, try get hold of a cheap one or a friends or something.
Try leaving the switch in but so the wires are accessible and check for power then check different cables with the button down and up

Yeh mine have stopped working as well. The drivers door central locking has also decided to go at the same time all switches are fine as are the fuses. I can do the central locking from the passenger side but the windows will not reset . Time to bin the car I am thinking.
