Instrument panel change?

Post by hartge »

Hi guys,

my instrument panel is playing up (9N 2002 1.4 TDI) when I was driving to work the whole panel just stopped working, time/trip computer went blank and the tacho needles just stuck at 40mph (stuck there until I got to work about 2 mins later)
When I parked up I switched the car off and then back on again and they came back into life (Airbag light decided to stay on)

Does it seem like my instrument panel is dying? I have had this issue before but seems to be getting worse. IF I was to replace it would I need a key/immob from another car aswell as the instrument panel?

Cheers

Not sure if this will help but I had a problem with my clocks & dash, it turn out to be the soldered joints on the back of the PCB board in the back of the clocks, where the the wiring loom harness connects. I just took the clocks out the dash, took it apart & re-soldered all the joints (if you look with a magnifying glass you might see them cracked)
