Forge DV kit - Not spacer
Forge DV kit - Not spacer
Anybody got this full vac dv kit from forge fitted? Just bought one off eBay for my GTI to try instead of the spacer i have fitted but not entirely sure which colour spring to install. Hoping someone can shed some light for me. Cheers
Re: Forge DV kit - Not spacer
Ill hopefully be getting one on wednesday. You got the recirc or the blow off kit?
Re: Forge DV kit - Not spacer
Got the bov one pal. But with mine running a map i just dont know which spring to be running. Some say yellow is too soft and blue is too hard. Dont want to be damaging the turbo now.
Re: Forge DV kit - Not spacer
I was contemplating one of these a while back but after reading what guy harding had to say i saved some cash and spent it elsewhere!!
Read Below...
"The OEM Valve has not been a diaphragm type for several years. The piston type (VW) has a pretty perfect record, not heard of a failure to date. Plastic pieces into the turbo? thats pretty far fetched when you look at the valve.
The spring doesn't hold boost, so that's a crock (in this case, the OE valve only uses the spring as a damper, its solenoid activated).
Any valve that dumps air for noise makes your car slower - FACT - It's a recirculating system.
Any DV with an alloy piston react's slower than a valve with 1/8th the mass (Plastic piston) makes your car slower - FACT.
Any valve with alloy to alloy friction surfaces requires maintenance, servicing & lubrication. If it siezes, it can cause damage (The exact r
reason why VW don't use them).
Not having a go at you, but the factory VW DV (piston style, as fitted to your new Polo) is the best on the market for so many reasons.
The standard valve has been tested to over 600hp & 30psi of boost - no issues. Save your cash & spend it on some other bits please!"

Re: Forge DV kit - Not spacer
Very good points he makes there, wish i had read that sooner
Think i may just sell the kit on after all haha
Re: Forge DV kit - Not spacer
Im getting mine mapped on Wednesday, might also cancel the order for the valve and spend the money elsewhere
Re: Forge DV kit - Not spacer
Or you can buy mine from me for £120 and save some pennys
Re: Forge DV kit - Not spacer
i had the forge recirc valve with the spacer it was sweet no noise and belt the boost through the gear changes !
Re: Forge DV kit - Not spacer
Which spring did you run pal?
