need advice

I got a 2001 gti and I'm planning on getting the H&R Cup Kit suspension for it which lowers it 60/40 and I also am planning on fitting some 16 inch wheels which are 4x100 pcd,7J and offset ET35.What would be the best size tyre to fit as I want to have the wheels as close to the edge of the arch as reasonably possible WITHOUT fitting stretch tyres.I would be willing to have the arches rolled if need be (is this possible without affecting anything on the car ie arch liners etc) and fitted spacers.

195/40/16 is what you want. That'll require no mods.

whats the offset on the gti alloys?

Et38 I believe. They are a standard ET amongst most vw 15" alloys
