Possible hub bearing??

Whilst driving home this evening in traffic, I noticed a clicking noise every time I use my brakes. The sound is coming from the passenger side & can be heard with the window down. It only seems to do this at low speeds.
When I got home I pushed & pulled the top of the wheel & there is quite a bit of movement. Is this a sign of a knackered wheel bearing?
Also would this cause the clicking noise?
I'm a little worried as I recently had the clutch changed, & after the amount of problems the garage caused damaging & not doing things up properly, it's left me a bit unsure if what they've done is safe.

There should be no movement

Its either a failed bearing, or the driveshaft nut is loose.

I took the wheel of this morning & it seems the bearing might be on its way out. Can anyone confirm what size socket fits the hub nut?
Is it a 36mm 12 point bi hex socket? Or is there a special socket for this?

After reading your previous posts about the bad job the garage made of doing your clutch they sound like a bunch of cowboys!, Sounds like they've bodged something, possibly not tightened the drive shaft nut which might have knackered the bearings as a result?

36mm 12 point yes

210nm tightness

If its loose, the nut must be replaced as they are one time use. If its loose, the bearing will be ruined, so thatll need replacing too.

I've used this garage before for simple things but nothing major, kind of wish I'd done the clutch myself now.
I've got a new bearing today & a mates gonna give me a hand to fit it. From all the video's on YouTube, it shows the bearings being pulled out with some sort of puller. My mates got a fly press in his garage, can we press the bearing in & out using that if we remove the whole hub assembly?

You'll need at least a 2ton press to get it in and out. They are quite stubborn

It's best to do it on a press with the hub removed.

Sorry, I meant hydraulic press not fly press. That's good to know it can be done that way. hopefully after this nothing else will need doing.
Nearly a £1000 spent so far & not a modified or upgraded part insight lol!

Unfortunately I didn't have a socket that fits. I'll see on Friday when my mate has it & let you know.

Tried the nut & it was tight but it was the old one with the tabs broken off. There was quite a bit of play in the bearing though. Unfortunately I couldn't get the damn bearing out with a press so gave up, put it back together & booked it into another garage. Fingers crossed they know how to take things apart without braking them!

My faith in garages has been restored & my new wheel bearing has been fitted! No more droning noise.
