Dear all,
I have a broken VW Polo 1.4 2003 or rather a mulfunction and I am not sure if its a mechanical or an eletrical problem.
My car does not have remote control so I need to use the key to open the doors. When I turn the key to open the drivers door the doors open and after a seond or two both doors windows start coming down.
Do you have an idea as to why this is happening?
Many thanks in advance
Carlos

Also works the other way round.Key in,turn to lock and hold, windows go up!
Re: Door Window
Sorry mswk,
I need to rephrase my question. I know about the feature. If you trun the key in the unlock position and leve it in that position for a seond subsequently the doors open. My problem is, when I turn the key in the unlock position and release immediatly without keeping it in that position (i.e. only to unlock the doors)... then after a second the doors go down.. not a normal behaviour! Let me know if it is not clear and will try and explain it again.
The problem started almost one year afer I bought the car...
Many thanks for your help

Re: Door Window
Thats a fault in the microswitch in the door lock. You may need a new door lock mechanism inside the door.
Re: Door Window
Oh dear! that bad?!
Well I am going to attempt to open it this weekend and have a look.
Thanks for your reply.
