Newby, 9n fuel gauge and temp gauge problem.

Post by Sacheus »

Did the search but found nothing like my problem.
I have a 2002 AZQ 1.2, 3 cylinder 107,000miles just bought so no history. I have a red temperature warning light on my dashboard and a peep. Coolant, pump, fan and the temperature gauge are all fine could this be a engine temperature sender? No faults found via vcds lite. I have also noticed the fuel gauge does not work the only thing it does is does is move ever so slightly with ignition on and no more. Any ideas or known problems? First input to this site and I'm asking for advice. Sorry...

I had the same problem with my 02 9n & it turned out the be broken soldered joints on the back of the PCB board in the clocks. Very easy to repair, remove the clocks & resolder the joints shown in my photo. I also re-soldered the joints on the other end of the board

Took it to a local garage and they diagnosed no power to the fuel sender and jumped power from pump with a 5amp inline fuse. At least it now works but I really would have preferred them to find and mend the brake in the wire. Oh well I would have taken the car to bits before finding that fault out.

Glad you got it sorted! Nothing worse than finding an annoying electrical fault!!!
