New Exhaust
New Exhaust
So I'm thinking of upgrading my standard exhaust i have on my 1.2 TSI.
I don't want the stupid chav boy-racer rumble thats sounds like Barry White eating wasps. I want a nice subtle rumble but sounds decent when I put my foot down.
Any advice?

Re: New Exhaust
I personally think the Supersprint exhaust goes well with the 3 Cylinder engine.

please note, he has the 1.2tsi which is the 4cyl version... not the 3cyl 1.2 N/A...Steve9413 wrote:I personally think the Supersprint exhaust goes well with the 3 Cylinder engine.

i have the 1.2tsi and just disconnected the exhaust in the middle of the system (straight pipe after CAT up to under the front seats. so no res or muffler connected). now it sounds like a racecar and i get the DSG "fart" that turns into a nice pop when done right and a good crackle when lifting off the throttle...
held together with screw type hose clamps (Looks all standard from outside as rear section is still in place) and is un-roadworthy where i live (Australia), but i love it...

Would you be able to post a video or sound file of how this sounds? As I'm interested in doing this now!mrdeathlad wrote:please note, he has the 1.2tsi which is the 4cyl version... not the 3cyl 1.2 N/A...Steve9413 wrote:I personally think the Supersprint exhaust goes well with the 3 Cylinder engine.

Re: New Exhaust
This wouldn't pass a UK mot so makes you wonder if its worth it.

Re: New Exhaust
the great thing is alex, that this doesnt need anything welded or cut... just loosen and tighten some bolts and clamps and its good to go... 10-15min job. and just as easy to put back to stock as well (for those with MOT concerns, just put back to stock for a day or how ever long is neededalexperkins wrote:This wouldn't pass a UK mot so makes you wonder if its worth it.
not the best but gives you an idea of it all... may try get better vid tomorrow..

Re: New Exhaust
I should also add this could affect the back pressure on the system and cause other issues
Plus it'll make the underside of your car all coked up in carbon deposits!
