Hi,
My 2002 1.2 Polo has just started spluttering @ 1.5k heavily.
When going through the revs smoothly between 1.5-1.7k is splutters like mad (Car jerking) asif it's struggling to get fuel.
Now i've not changed the fuel filter yet, & the last service doesnt show it had been done either, so more than likley due 1.
Just wondering if any1 else has had this problem before?
It's just come on all of a sudden so unsure as to what it could be. I do about 800-1k miles a month & only ever toped the oil up once since.
Any ideas would be great.
Thanks
Aarron

As long as you have been using proper fuel from a proper fuel place, then I'd tend to ignore the fuel filter at the moment, to give you an example of how long these fuel filters can last - my wife's October 2002 reg'd Polo 1.4 75PS, has now covered over 100K on its original petrol filter, I have a new filter/regulator assembly and pipe end repair kits, but have not given in yet!
First thing I would do is to check the spark plugs, and if you are taking them out you might as well replace them.
This could be due to something very simple, or something very serious, so try the cheaper things first, next after the plugs could be a coil, if only to swop around and see if you can fix it - ie only one duff coil.
