My polo 9n 1.9 tdi has just started making a clunking noise mostly when I change down gears between 3rd & 2nd gear, but doesn't do it when changing up. The noise can be mostly heard if I'm in 2nd or 3rd gear & dabbing the accelerator. From inside the car, the noise sounds like it's coming from near the the passenger foot well.
Any ideas as to what this could be?

check the rear gearbox `dogbone` mount..common thing I think,about £30ish new

Yeah found a couple of posts with similar issues & it sounds about right. Where's the best place to get one? I've only seen upgraded one's which are. About £100!
