Engine Speed Sensor(Crankshaft position sensor) Location

Where is this sensor located?I have to replace it,but cant found it anywhere on the engine.Car is 6N2 GTi engine code AVY,Thanks :0

Behind the starter motor on the back of the engine. Its not particularly easy to get to
