Trunk light

Post by Space »

My trunk light doesn't work. There's no voltage from the wiring. Does anyone know what triggers this light? Is there a switch somewhere?

There's a microswitch in the boot lock mechanism. These often fail and are about a tenner to replace from the dealer

Is this switch located in the rear door where also the wiper mechanism is or is it below behind the bumper?

In the door itself.

Lock is removed from the bottom with an M8 spline bit

The switch was very polluted inside and sliding contacts corroded. It was easy to replace and a good moment to lubricate the locking mechanism as well.
