How to fix unlocking option key fob?

Post by jagjot »

I have vw polo 1.6 16v gti, MKV, year 2000.

I recently got my key fob configured to unlock and lock the car.

But for some reason when I try to un-lock my car. I have to press multiples times. on an average 5 to 7 times. Every time I click unlock my cars indicator flash but doesn't unlock.

Any Ideas?

Check your central locking pump, it could be leaking as its a pneumatic system. It lives behind the drivers side tail light in a polystyrene cradle.

Does the car unlock alround when you physically use the drivers door lock or has your central locking failed period? I'm just going through a process of elimination. :?

yes, if use key car unlocks an locks fine.
with the fob locks fine only unlocking has a problem.

Is this with both keys or just the new one? If it's the new one only it sounds like a dodgy button on the fob.

It sounds like a problem with the key. If it locks first time every time the receiver in the car must be ok.

Hi Folks,
I bought a brand new fob from vw garage and got it configured again to my car. but still locking is working fine and unlocking blinks lights but - only unlocks after few unlock button clicks.

Looks like car is receiving the signals but pump is not getting the current first time (only after few clicks).

any more ideas?
