Start-stop Problems
Re: Start-stop Problems
I have emailed my local dealer as well so we shall see what they come back with.

Re: Start-stop Problems
rja - have you found any other annoyances on your 6C? Currently, i have a few things that are bugging me. One being the composition media, as the bluetooth lags at times and freezes/doesn't connect/freezes on an incorrect song ID. (although i suspect this just requires a firmware update). I also have a few annoying rattles on the drivers door and passenger door, coming from the top trim, and the accelerator pedal, squeaks as well haha!rja wrote:I have emailed my local dealer as well so we shall see what they come back with.
How are you finding yours?
Re: Start-stop Problems
CrypticG - I have only done around 100 miles but I am pretty happy so far. The composition media seems to be working fine although I don't use BT audio and instead have loaded up an SD card with music which works well apart from some of the cover art not showing. I was aware of this before I got the car as my brother has a Mk7 Golf GTD with the same problem - apparently it is down to the dimensions of the cover art file and can be sorted manually but haven't been bothered to do it yet. Bluetooth phone connection seems to work well and is very clear. No squeaks or rattles yet (long may that continue). The most annoying thing so far is with the start-stop system.
Re: Start-stop Problems
A little update - on the drive home this evening the start-stop worked exactly how I thought it should work with lights on, MP3 playing and climate control on and in auto mode. Temperature outside noticeably colder than previous days so maybe this has an effect (heating rather than cooling)? Will see how it goes over the next few journeys.

Re: Start-stop Problems
Just for info if it helps as I have had several similar issues, and the start stop issue is driving me nuts along with the stereo/bluetooth, which also gets stuck dsiplaying certain song titles
I have made a complaint to VW after numerous visits to my dealer regarding some of your issues
They are now taking my vehicle back in for the following
· a persistent rattle from the glove box which has not been resolved.
· An error with the start stop system(neutral switch cleaned and changed by Windrush, nil fix) - VW have said this is a known error and there is a software update
· An error with the in car audio system and Bluetooth (firmware upgrade, nil fix) - VW have said this is a known error and there is a software update
· Bluetooth telephone doesn't connect, it displays a splash screen stating 'starting telephone'
· Bluetooth often gets stuck on calls, even when I turn my phone off the bluetooth system still shows that it is on a call and I can't use the radio or access any other features on the Composition Media Device
· The rear window wiper is set up to 'activate in reverse', sometimes this happens however most of the time when engaging reverse the rear window wiper doesn't wipe and requires manual activation
· Rattle from passenger chair which is intermittent but very audible
· Rattle from above instrument cluster where steering wheel is, again intermittent but very audible
· Rattle from A pillar
· Rattle from B pillar
· Trip computer doesn't reset, for example I complete a journey from A to B, the trip computer displays this as 4 miles. I turn the car off, return 2 hours later and make another journey but when the car is started it resumes from 4 miles and doesn't reset. This is intermittent and I cannot find a root cause for this.
As you can see, I'm a bit of an OCD owner and will find every possible problem there is...
They have written back and said they are going to take the car in 16th Feb, so I will keep you posted.
But the start stop and bluetooth issues are known about so hold them to account

Re: Start-stop Problems
I hope there isn't an issue with new cars and stop/start. I would imagine there shouldn't be if there's an update out.
Re: Start-stop Problems
I have read about this stop start / climate control issue before, but when I google it I can't find anything, so it certainly doesn't sound like an issue across the board.
Re: Start-stop Problems
Do you have a 3 or 5 door model? The seat mechanisms will be different based on this, however, on my 5dr Polo, Yep, the passenger seat sometimes rattles, sit in the seat and move it backwards and forwards and adjust the recline a little. It is clear there are some positions in the mechanism where the seat can rattle if nobody is sitting in it. Do as stated above, usually 'fixes it'.jedeacon94 wrote: · Rattle from passenger chair which is intermittent but very audible
