Bi-Xenon upgrade help

Post by jamessinger94 »

Hi Guys,

Was looking to upgrade the headlights in my 2012 Polo Match to the Bi-Xenons

Has anyone fitted this set? http://www.xenonz.co...headlights.html

Are they any good for the price? I was going to just fit a kit in my current set but decided would be best to get a set with the projector lenses.

Thanks

Bi-Xenon upgrade help

Are these a legit straight swap / plug and play for the 6r and 6c? Looking exactly the same as OEM?

Well according to that eBay listing 6r lights will fit 6c mechanically but you need to remove the bumper. Not sure how hard that is to do.

Yeah I read that too. I'm not a huge fan of messing with things I'm not the best at, knowing me I would snap something lol. I wonder why the bumper needs to be removed?

And, I don't mean to be a party pooper, but don't forget you need to fit self levelling and headlight washers if your car doesn't have them already, if you want to be legal.

Or, run the risk of prosecution by the law, either after being stopped or being involved in an accident, or accept the risk but be prepared to remove them again come MOT time.

You should also declare the modification to your insurance company otherwise you may give them an excuse not to pay out.

I don't want to turn this into another xenon retrofit/legality/declare/don't declare mods thing, but you should consider all the ramifications before you dive in for some pretty looking lights...

Apologise for the maybe silly question..

How come Xenons require a self-levelling system? What does this add or bring to make them legal?

Where does it go and what is it?

I have headlight washers so that shouldn't be an issue.
