Engine failure on 1.2 3 cyl. 1198cc. 2005

First ever contact with this Forum.not familiar with modern OHC injection technology, however with some assistance I would like to investigate further.the engine has had a rattle for some days, didn't sound too serious so carried on using car as normal. On arriving home, switched off engine, next morning turned ignition on and engine buzzed over very quickly as though spark plugs had been removed. A garage inspected the car and said there was no compression on any cyl.and advised not worth pursuing further. Mileage 60,000 and the car is in good condition and I feel loath to scrap it ! Any advice or comments would be very welcome. Cheers, RoySmith
