Factory 6C LED headlights/DRLs now available?!

When you all say LED Lights.. Do you mean the Xenon bulbs will LED DRLS?
Or is it a possibility that you can get the LED DRL's with Halogen bulb..

If so.. I will be excited!

Maybe LED bulbs for the main and dipped beam?

Might have to give the drips at Southend VW a ring and see if they can confirm if we can get a LED DRL's and Halogen.

No way do I have money for Xenon upgrades.

They are full LED lights. Everything within the unit is LED - no halogens..

Seat have had these available in their Leon and Ibiza models for ages, surprised it has taken VW a while to catch up. Maybe it was a marketing thing, and Seat had use of it first or something.

I actually prefer the look of the full LED setup in the video, I like the Xenon light output on my GTI, but not so keen on the 'fairy light' DRL's in the headlamp. The solid bar looks much better.

I have the xenon + leds, I don't like the 'discontinous' led lighting as it looks old-fashioned, a real shame that VW does not offer led yet for some 6C POLO versions...in return I'm happy with xenon performance.

Presumably you mean upgrade to the full LED headlights, as opposed to DRL's?

If you mean the former, then quite apart from availability (they aren't really out yet on factory cars) then they require the same self levelling and headlight washing systems that Xenons require by law.

So definitely not plug and play, but no doubt possible given enough time and money. Might be more cost effective to trade in and buy one with LED's fitted when they're available though!

Not sure that LEDs require the washers- the Leons with them don't always have washers. I think they do need to be self-leveling though.

If they need levelling, then they need washers I'm afraid, according to legislation anyway.

Maybe the Seats you've seen around have had retrofitted headlights and they've not fitted the washers?

To confirm even further and for anyone still wondering about their order, my dealer replied today with the following:

Polo SEL’s from week 45 onwards now have the following change:

SEL trim – new standard exterior equipment
- LED headlights for dipped and main beam, range adjustable with LED rear license plate lighting.
