I'll post when I get a delivery date, as that may give you some clue. AFAIK, all Blue GT's come from the same factory
Anyone currently waiting on a 6C factory order?
Re: Anyone currently waiting on a 6C factory order?
James - mine took 1 week after its build slot to go to "In Build" and then another 3 weeks and a call to the dealer before it showed as "In Transit".

Re: Anyone currently waiting on a 6C factory order?
I suppose if you take into account the pressing of sheet steel, welding, dipping and then off to the paint shop with drying time etc, I'm sure it does span over a few days. I guess I'm thinking of when it enters the factory to start having bits bolted on and turned into 'your' car though.
You can appreciate why custom colours cost so much when you think about how they're built!
Very exciting taking delivery of a new car though, I've only done it a couple of times and the wait seems forever!

Anyone currently waiting on a 6C factory order?
@markc123 when was your build date? Most people I have spoken too pick it up within 4-5 weeks of it being built in expecting last week in December or first week of jan
@Tooks yeah it's killing me iv done it once before and that was for a showroom model and still took almost a month to collect but not knowing what's happening is the worst because of transporting it could be delayed over December with wether and holidays etc :/

Re: Anyone currently waiting on a 6C factory order?
My dealer said it should take around 3 weeks from build week for mine to be ready for pickup (bear in mind it's a 3-door), and my build week is starting 15th December. This goes slightly against what most say (even VW CS), who quote 4, but I'm sticking with mid January in my head. Hopefully the weather doesn't make for a longer wait.
Out of interest, I'm assuming you guys are going with/are already using the free Zurich insurance that's available (if you're using Solutions)?

No I don't qualify for the free years insurance as I'm 21 and have ordered a BlueGt which you have to be 25 to get the free insurance

Date was 02 Nov, so should have been built somewhere in the 7 days following that date.Jamesbluegt wrote:@markc123 when was your build date? Most people I have spoken too pick it up within 4-5 weeks of it being built in expecting last week in December or first week of jan
I'm not using the free insurance either - its a company car so all sorted for me, managed to get the BlueGT as its pretty much on a par cost wise with the 1.6D Golfs that we usually buy and I'm allergic to diesel.....

At home, the decision was similar taking into account our budget for a 2nd car. I have excellent prices from my friend at the VW dealer, so we found only two choices: Golf TDI 105 HP with low equipment or a well equiped Blue GT and 45 extra HP. Golf TSI 105 CV was possible, but it only runs if you fall from a cliff.markc123 wrote:Date was 02 Nov, so should have been built somewhere in the 7 days following that date.Jamesbluegt wrote:@markc123 when was your build date? Re: Anyone currently waiting on a 6C factory order?
I picked my new SEL up about 2 weeks ago.
Ordered on 24th July, was given 27th of October as estimated delivery date, arrived at dealers on 10th November for pick up on 13th.
I got 17'' alloys, light & sight and pure white paint.
The wait killed me, especially the in transit bit where I spent more time at work looking at ships going across the north sea than I did any actual work.

Anyone currently waiting on a 6C factory order?
Vw CS are just as bad as the tracker, called Monday and some woman said it was being built a we speak, called yesterday to see if it was finished, was told it had not gone in to production yet and they give the factory 2 week to build the car. My question is why the hell is it week commencing 23/11/14 when it's going to be the week after, annoyed!

Re: Anyone currently waiting on a 6C factory order?
Wahey mine's been built and is on it's way dealer reckons it may be here for Christmas
Anyone know which halogen bulbs fit the front SE headlights and fogs think it's H7's for the headlights and H1 for fogs Need to upgrade them as I live down a country lane and the standard ones are normally not brilliant just not sure on the exact fitments, also has anyone had any luck with Mirror link being sorted, popped into the skoda garage and they seem to know more about it than VW. I know it's back on the price lists but dealer admitted he knew nothing about it and vw cs hasn't replied yet. Skoda did offer to activate it if vw wouldn't / couldn't :-s
Still haven't seen one like mine yet love that Mayan Blue colour it's amazing and different to the last two deep black polo's I've had.

Is this acceptable? Build week was commencing 23rd November it's now almost 2 weeks since then iv just got off the phone with cs and apparently it is still with the factory "being built" and apparently if I call again the end of next week they might be able to tell me more, it should have been half way here by then!! what a joke

That's appalling if they've left you waiting with no answer...

Re: Anyone currently waiting on a 6C factory order?
Did you ask what the reason for the delay was? On the tracking site, the following is mentioned: "How long does it take to build my car? It depends on a lot of factors, but to give you some idea it takes around 30 hours to build a Golf, split over two to four days."Jamesbluegt wrote:Is this acceptable? I feel your pain in this situation, albeit for slightly different delays. One thing I can say is that generally kicking up a fuss, mentioning cancelling, or even being super nice has no effect at all given that CS have no power (or so they say).
