Dear fellow forum members.
My beloved 6n2 GTI needs a new engine,
The garaged flooded and water passed to cylinders through the induction wasting the engine totally. I had only 120K kms on it,
I am based in Greece and GTI engines are hard to find.
I checked on ebay were several yards have engines, they say that it comes with warranty but I have no idea if these guys are of trust. They quote low milage but how can they prove it?
Prices vary from 300-500 GBP. I need engine only (AVY) with no peripherals.
Any ideas where I can source a quality engine with reasonable kms ?
I understand that shipping it to Greece could be expensive but it worth trying.
Thanks!!

Re: in need of a GTI AVY Engine
My condolences mate!
Check out car.gr
GTi engines do show up there from times to times. Just keep looking.
Engines from ebay are usually pick up only.

Re: in need of a GTI AVY Engine
Hi tribal,
car.gr has only one engine which does not look a wise choice.
supposing a good one is found, I can arrange for a logistics company to pic it up form UK

However the question is how reliable these brakers are
any member with previous experience ?
