Still waiting on mine currently it says in transit and the dealers last email on the 8th December was that it was waiting to leave the factory to head to the docks...So no chance of it getting here before Christmas, looking at the boats leaving port Elizabeth the next one is due to arrive on the 21st of December and that doesn't reach Germany until end of Jan early Feb... Bit annoying if that is the case as that'll mean I've been waiting 17 weeks till today and possibly got to wait 23+ weeks if the schedule is correct on the boat.

Bit annoyed :-s

Ordered it the 1st week of September think it was 6th but need to check paperwork for sure... Dealer has repeatedly said 14 weeks from order to deliver and gave a rough collection date of the 17th of Dec which was ironic as it's my Birthday he even offered to stick a cake in the car and gift wrap it if it arrived on time. VW's customer Service department really is hacking me off, several unanswered emails, no response to messages posted on twitter or facebook asking for order updates and no returned phone calls.

Service from the dealer has been good so far but i think his original estimate was way off... hopefully have an update on Monday.

Coincidently, I too ordered on September 6th, but was told a 12 week wait (by multiple dealerships) and a December 6th delivery.

I don't really fault the dealership, not much they can do once all the order details are put into the system. For me, the issue here lies with the factory and unfortunately they are the entity in the process we have no direct communication to.

Anyone currently waiting on a 6C factory order?

@Doc_House really? I had replies strait away from @vwuknews and @vwukhelp they gave me an email to send my essay of a complaint to, which was [email protected] and then I was contacted by phone by there complaints department and resolved my issues (over the space of 3 days *sigh*) and they spoke directly to the factory to find out all details and seemed to give them a little shove as 2 days after it left the factory iv found that complaining is the only was as now someone will call me (apparently) every Thursday until it arrives to give me real time updates however I did threaten to go to trading standards as I have had more problems with the whole ordeal of ordering this car 1. Dealership have false info about free years insurance (doesn't apply to me as im21 and you have to be 25 on a polo blue gt but they said it did) 2.false info about where my order was and when it was being built by vw "CS" 3. It took 3 and a half weeks from build week to leave factory and I will be going to trading standards if the car doesn't arrive before 20th of jan because I'm that annoyed at them must have called/been called by them over 30 times since ordering because of these problems
Sorry for the essay guys

Yep, no answer will try emailing the Twitter address in the morning. Dealership in Birmingham has been very good so far but just frustrated as I'd hoped to be picking it up this week.

Hi there,

So as of Friday 12th December my build is now at step 5a (In transit) with a 4 week wait until it's at the dealership taking my pick up date until end of Jan with factoring in the christmas break etc. This is a whole 4 weeks over the date stipulated on the contract of sale between myself and my dealer. As a result of 3 or 4 strongly worded emails to the sales manager I have agreed with them to take delivery on 1st of march as I personally found it utterly pointless to take delivery approx. 4 weeks before a plate refresh. Would end up being a financial disaster come sale time.

For anyone in the same position as myself where in the original contract of sale has been breached because of production delays, get in the driving seat and call the shots with your dealer so you are getting the best deal possible with a starting point of getting them to confirm the contract of sale can or cannot be met.

As a result of this March '15 pick up the figures will stay the same on the purchase, I may have to sacrifice the free years insurance as it hasn't been confirmed as an ongoing offer with VW however it's been in existence now since 2005 I believe so can't see them pulling it now. Also having to cover my own motoring costs in the mean time (TAX and MOT on current daily driver). So the car will arrive and go into local storage for a few weeks until the 15 plate.

Personally I couldn't be happier at this victory and i'm more than happy to help anyone else who has the same mindset.

Cheers,
Al

@alanblakey,

I also emailed my dealer saying if car not delivered by end Dec I would not be picking it up or registering it until March.

Haven't had a response yet, worried as I am part exing my existing polo and not sure if they will demand mine before then or devalue it due to it's increasing mileage.

Is that what you did Alan?

@jamesblueGT I guess you're backed into a corner if you're desperate! I was tempted to take delivery straight away but I can't bare loosing so much money for the sake of a 4 week wait! Personal preference I guess. Bet you can't wait though. What's happening with your insurance now too?

@fedupvw
Best advice is to go straight to the top. And stick to black and white emails back and forth. Phone calls and word of mouth aren't strong enough I've found.

Sounds cocky but I've had to get them by neck and call the shots.

1st email should be straight to BM asking if the original contract of sale can or cannot be met. Once they've admitted that they cannot meet the agreed delivery date on the contract of sale the world is your oyster. You tell them what you want or threaten to walk away with your deposit refunded as this really gets things moving! (which legally is permitted as CoS has been breeched).

In terms of pushing for a 15 plate it is more than doable if that's what you want. The production delay isn't your fault nor is it the dealers but ultimately, they are responsible for that vehicle. What they get up to with Volkswagen is up to them. I have agreed the figures to remain the same with my dealer with this including my p/x valuation too.

I cannot stress enough to not let these guys push you around, you tell them what you want and when.

If you want any help just PM me and I'd be more than happy to help you along the same track as myself.

Cheers,
Al

They have told me that there is nothing that they can do about the insurance the complaint has been logged against Crewe vw, I didn't really expect them to do anything about it but they have offered a vw good will gesture whatever that involves :/ and I have found my own insurance the same price as on my 1.2 60ps r-line style haha

@Jamesbluegt - Have you ever met your dealer in person, or have you ordered over the phone/online? If the latter and if possible, it might be worth dropping by and discussing in person so they will have to give you answers.

@alanblakey1 - Great to hear you have had yours sorted. Not sure if you've seen it, but regarding the free insurance, it's quoted here in the T&C's: "Offer available on orders before December 31st, 2014", so you should be fine as they will have no choice but to honour it.

@Fedupvw - Do please let us know what they say.

To update on my order, just got off the phone with CS and it's has just passed through "checkpoint 8" (or "A", couldn't tell) and transit should be this week, so basically everything is on track for mid/end Jan. Naturally, the online tracker still says "Build week confirmed", but I've given up on using this anyway.

I'm thinking of following alanblakey1 in regard to mentioning the original CoS date and that they should be giving some form of gesture of good will for the wait, but I'm still on the fence about the 15 plate. I know it's the better thing to do but the thought of the car sitting there for a month and a half just hurts my brain. Out of interest, since at that point you don't technically own the car, and in my case I wouldn't have actually seen it either, could they do with it what they please (e.g. give someone a test-drive in it to demo the model/spec)?

Also, does anyone know what the earliest date for registering a 15 plate would be, or do you actually have to wait until March 1st?

Spoke to my dealer today who couldn't stop thanking me for not yelling at him about the delay!

Am hoping my attitude will get me what I want. He has said he will do "Whatever it takes to support me", so I reiterated not picking up or registering till March and that they should honour part ex amount of existing polo despite its increased mileage. His response, he will have to speak to the boss but shouldn't be a prob.

I have asked him to put it in writing.

I was worried about people test driving my car whilst it is sat at dealership. Having heard horror stories of the valeters scratching the paintwork as they prep the cars, I have insisted that they don't touch it, I will do it myself when I get it home, and that they leave all possible transport wrappings on. Hopefully this will mean no joy riding either!

I got a notification from my dealer today that my build week has reduced from week 16 to week 8. This is for a 3 door 1.2 ordered on 18th October. I think I will still be lucky if I get my car within 6 months of the order date at this rate!

Hope you all get the December / January deliveries that you are looking for.
