I'd like to see that too. Some people think tuning boxes are 'spikey', and maps aren't, but as ever it depends on who programmed the box and who did the map. A tuning box contains a map, so it's the same thing, just not in the cars ECU. The big German tuning houses are all producing some very serious piggy back boxes now, as VAG have locked down their ECU's so well that they are very difficult to decrypt.

One thing I should have mentioned in my post above is I have no idea how much power the standard 1.6tdi rods will take, and I suspect nobody else does. It's too early to say whether any of these 180-200bhp modded cars are reliable I'd say.

Amig, it sounds like you knew much more than you first let on with regards to which way you want to go!

Good luck with it, and don't forget to update us as you go along, it will be interesting to see once finished.

higher performance/spec cars will benefit from mods more and also less stress

so this is pointless, trade in and get a 2.0 or gt then mod it, the amount your spending you can get a much faster car in standard form....

As far as the bent rods go I refer to post made on tdiclub forum, again I said simple tuning box. I've seen the newer more sophisticated tuning boxes and I agree those are a safer option. But a simple tuningbox is just a resistance that fools your ECU and raises the fuel rail line this. Fooling the ECU is dangerous especially when only 1 parameter is influenced imo.. Of course having a bad tune can also bend rods or create other problems I will never argue that.

The cars I've seen and was reffering to do endurance racing Google VVT in the Netherlands. They use the same engine running bigger turbo etc makes 175 HP DPF intact because of regulations.. They confirmed the handle can handle a lot on the rods when going for higher output, EGT is the big problem...

Sorry if I misled anyone with my first post, was not intended just curious what upgrades people would think might help.

Propane was a very good one but I dislike the thought of having such a volatile gas in my car (even if it is liquified and stored in a safe place)

I do like the Polo that much and actually am very disappointed it did not come out with the 2.0TDI and other PQ25 based cars did... and swapping the engine is a future goal when I'm done with exploring how far this one can go and at that point will also be more viable looking at time spend on making that engine work on the polo taking everything in consideration ie engine weight difference, drive shafts etc.

If people here like I will start a build topic as soon as I will start the whole process. I started this one hoping to gather more info on this engine and the fuel system. And maybe input from others who have already tuned this engine. Remember this engine is found on most new 1.6 TDI cars only changes are turbo,ic, air ducts, exhaust and mapping depending on the size of the car and hp needs.

I want to add currently my car already has the same HP as the GT TDI if that was the one mentioned before? Over here we got three maps on the 1.6 for the polo 75,90 and 105. And of course the smaller three pots...

Amig: you're on the wrong forum. I mean serious engine building is forbidden territory here.
I mean, you need advices from people who actually build these, but it's very likely you wont find such people on random forums.
Ask about painting brake calipers instead

Exactly that. Tuning boxes need to be placed in the trash can, get them out of the cars.

In my humble opinion the brake calipers painted in blue are the most beautiful.

What do you think? http://www.car-creativ.de/galerie/polo6r/fotoindex.html

Indeed in blue it looks very nice Ciclo!!! I'm going for a coppergold or red as it will match my black car better especially after I get my bronzegold or mattblack rims :)

As for asking How to go about painting your brake callipers, this info is already available on the web.. And as far as being a clown goes I actually I actually agree that I wont find any more info than I already have..

Will start a build thread as soon as finances are ready to start the build.

Want to add that an oil catch tank is already on its way as a preventive measure. Increase turbo life and reduce burning oil which has a negative effect on power output etc.

Black forrest industries! Uses original vw connectors! Very nice product!

I got it from XTmotorsports in the netherlands! But i'm pretty sure other stores sell it.

It is sold as being for the gti but fits all polo 6R.

Minor modifications to firewall is needed to make it fit!
