It cant have been alot heavier surely? Although diesels always seem to find a way dont they? Its the same bottom end as any other mk3 polo (v similar anyway) except the stroke is longer.

well diesel engines have a much higher compression of course, the head at least has to be able to handle that.... stronger likely = more metal = heavier. plus its a larger capacity.
marinblau? sounds likely... any code associated with that?
(is it a pretty dark colour yeah.. or maybe mines just "faded" that way
)
cheers!

It may be larger capacity but the block is the same, Its just the crankshaft and conrods that are different. The heaviest part is probably all the diesel injection type stuff and yes the cylinder head will probably be heavier. Anyway, like i said this morning my brochure does not reveal the Paint code, just the option code for that colour paint. Its confusing I know. But I have good news:
Ive just been looking on etka and your paint code is LA5E. Its definatetly this one, (maritime blue) theres no other non-metallic blue available for our model year on a polo (91H) It certainly looks like the right colour int brochure.
If you want touch up paint and spray cans, I suggest you go to a VAG dealership as any other colour match will be second-rate unless you pay somewhere loads to mix a special brew for you.

Hmmmm, I need to find a way of finding out my paint colour/code for sure. I am led to believe its Alpine White, as Candy White (as it says in Halfords), seems too dark. I have checked for the sticker in the boot, but all I can find is the sticky residue where one has previously been on the lip above the bumper. All I can say is, I have been touching up, and have had the bumpers in Alpine White, with very few problems match wise. It would just be nice to know.
Karl.

my mates always mention about my rather large screen wash tank! the mk 2 had a smaller one but also had a teeny one in the boot! have to say, that would be easier to find a blockage instead of wots in my mk3! my rear wiper washer won't spray water n we don't no where it is blocked!
i love looking through mags at the time of when my car first came out! i also like to laugh at the 0-60mph figure, i think i have shaved bout 5sec's at least off wot they quote for my car!
