Hi I am new to the board and am interested in a polo mk6 ,it is my first car and don't want to make a mistake.
Any info about reliability etc would be appreciated.
I have not got a particular car in mind and need to know what to look for.

Maybe try having a look on www.briskoda.net it is a Skoda forum but Polo 9N is mainly same as Fabia Mk1 - well as far as running gear is concerned. I think that there is a thread of common faults. Also, look on www.seatcupra.net it is a Seat forum and Ibiza 6J is mainly same as Polo 9N - both these marques have more active membership than VW Polo so you will pick up more useful topics there, nothing against VW Polo owners but I quickly discovered back in 2002 that they were not at that time very clued up on technical matters, whereas Ibiza and Fabia owners tended to get stuck in. I bought a Polo 9N 1.4 SE new for my wife back in September 2002 (imported from NL), and she is still running it at 103K miles.
