I reckon if VW had kept the POLO GTI to a 1.4 engine and added the extra 10BHP, it could have won the speed test.

It was obviously going to win the braking test because it's 110KG lighter..

if they had put a wet clutch dsg in the polo it would of been a hell of a lot closer.

I ordered a Mk6 Golf GTI about 5 years ago and sold it after 9 months, because it was so boring to drive. Even my Polo BGT feels faster than the Golf did, so the GTI must be a real hoot.

On paper it really isn't much slower, 7.8 (BGT) vs 7.2 (GTI Mk6) to 60 off the top of my head?

Mk7 Golf GTI has a bit more pace though and have heard good things about it.

My mate has a GTD which is pretty quick and you do see a lot of GTI's/GTD's MK7's, so they can't be that bad :)
