Emailed Dealer who has confirmed the car had arrived however due to it needing a PDI and they've been really busy due to a used car sale, they've not had chance.

I am waiting to hear when I am able to go look at it and test drive it! :)

Went to test drive my BGT today however they hadn't moved it as its right in the corner of cars :(

I sat in and the dealer took me through the buttons, made me want to walk out with it there and then haha! May 27th is when I'll get it!! :)

Just picked up my replacement BGT today, 5 months after it was ordered as a replacement for the first one (dealer forgot to add xenons when placing the order with the factory).

Replacement spec is:

5dr BGT
Blue Silk, silver wheels
Xenon headlights
Sat Nav
Climate control
Light & sight pack
Winter pack
Central armrest
Carpet mats

Old car (64 plate, 5100 miles) with same spec. except no xenons or sat-nav will shortly be going up for sale with dealer, if anyone wants a nearly new one (message me for dealer details if interested).

Keep up there, HIDs were specified by customer, dealer forgot to include that!

The dealer forgot to add Xenon's when they placed the order with VW - as JohnNW had waited about 15 weeks the dealer agreed to allow him to use the current one until his new one (with xenons) arrives. So the one JohnNW is giving back to the dealer was a loan BGT in some sense. :)

Exactly. At the time the dealer said they might be able to offer a small amount of compensation if I kept the car, but equally they were quite happy to order a replacement.

I chose the later option and amended the order to delete the Mirrorlink (which wasn't actually installed on the first car as VW stopped supplying it soon after I ordered the original car) and replaced it with the sat-nav option.

They told me I could run the old one until the replacement car arrived and the PCP was simply transferred over to the new car. This means that the 3 year PCP ends when the new car is 2 years and 7 months old. I have also benefited from another years free insurance, having already had 5 months free insurance on the previous car.

All in all, I'm pretty happy with the arrangement. I'm not selling the old one, I was simply giving a heads up to anyone that might be looking for a nearly new one.

Fair enough, hope it is all sorted in end...

Can't wait until I pick mine up!!

Wife ordered her 1.2TSI SEL 5 door three weeks ago, I've noticed that the order status has moved to "3" so that implies that VW have loaded this order into their system and assigned it a build period. As she has not been updated by her dealer yet, how far ahead roughly could the build week be from anyone's experience, it will be a South Africa build I'd reckon unless Spain has been passed some of these orders.

Whats the average time from placing your order to the actual delivery of your car. I've been getting some very good quotes from CarWow for a 6C GTI, but have been told it will take approximately 4 months till delivery.

Was told 12-16 weeks from listers Volkswagen in Nuneaton but then the one where I have ordered from up north has quoted me 20 weeks minimum. By the sounds of it a lot of dealers are saying 4 months + so sounds right. Don't mind as I would like the free insurance when I turn 25 in August! :D

Okay, so I could add the extra delay in ordering on which would make wife's car due for build in early July and that should make delivery before September (from South Africa), obviously she would not mind if it was delayed until the new reg, but she will take it whenever it comes.
