Re: 6C auto door locking
If you don't have the feature enabled, the dealer can do it for you, usually free of charge. It took them 3 minutes when I asked them to enable it on my Up.
Re: 6C auto door locking
Hi all,
Ive recently purchased a new Polo (6C) and the Auto-Lock function isn't present. Ive spoken with the sales guy (just to check its not a factory fault) and he understands this isn't a function on the new Polo. He says it is a strange one as its on other VW models. He will cross check his knowledge with the tech guys.
I do find it weird that the old Polo model and other current VW models have this function but the new Polo doesn't. Has anyone got any further or contrasting info?
Cheers

Re: 6C auto door locking
I've spoken to both my supplying dealer (Inchcape Stockport) and my local dealer (Inchcape Oldham) who have both advised the same thing. Their techs are having issues enabling the anti-hijack feature on the 6C's and it has gotten to the point where VWUK are in contact with VW Germany to find out why they can't enable the anti-hijack feature.
It is definitely possible for the 6C to have the feature enabled (shown in this video on a Czech Polo) it's just British VW "techs" don't seem to have the same knowledge/equipment of their German equals.

Re: 6C auto door locking
Only took me a few minutes to enable it on my 6C SEL (and my other half's 6C SE) with VCDS. You can either set it the traditional way (programming it directly to autolock/unlock) or you can just enable the menu option in the composition media. I opted to do the latter so that I could easily disable it, if necessary.jammydodger wrote:I've spoken to both my supplying dealer (Inchcape Stockport) and my local dealer (Inchcape Oldham) who have both advised the same thing. I did need to use the latest VCDS beta (15.3, I believe).
The options for programming it directly are:
(3)-Access control-automatisches Verriegeln bei Geschwindigkeit
(4)-Access control-automatisches Entriegeln
and for enabling the menu:
(18)-Access control-Menuesteuerung ZV Autolock-Unlock

Re: 6C auto door locking
Thanks for this - have you managed to complete any other tweaks with VCDS - I've read that Ross-tech haven't fully managed to get the control modules working on the 6C

Re: 6C auto door locking
Just tear wipe. I also used it to diagnose a fault with the central locking - the red LED in the driver's door was staying on solid for 30 seconds when the doors were locked. VCDS said it was an "implausible signal" from the passenger door lock. I took it to the dealer and it turned out that the passenger door latch was full of water. They replaced it and no problems since.jammydodger wrote:Thanks for this - have you managed to complete any other tweaks with VCDS - I've read that Ross-tech haven't fully managed to get the control modules working on the 6Ck
Re: 6C auto door locking
Thanks for the information.
What exactly is VCDS?
Can this procedure be done at a VW dealership to enable the anti-hijack/auto-lock feature?
Cheers

Re: 6C auto door locking
Any progress on this yet, I too read the owner's handbook and then went into wife's new Polo SEL to change to auto-locking - no option as found by others! Before I start messing about with VCDS I'd like to know if VW-UK are going to enable this option, and the tear drop wipe would be handy too as my S4 and our Ibiza both have these functions enabled.

Re: 6C auto door locking
Weirdly, the 6C I rented in Spain last week had it enabled. And I can't imagine that Avis go around messing with their cars with Vagcom

Re: 6C auto door locking
I've just had a "look see" of the BCM in daughter's 6J Ibiza S/C - really for a completely different reason as it flattens its battery if left unused for a week, all the options in it are in English, so I'll need to write out a "map" for that, try correcting any programming errors as this can cause the car battery to discharge, and then when I've played around enough, try reprogramming wife's new 6R 6C1 Polo SEL.

Re: 6C auto door locking
Wouldn't surprise me if there were significant differences between the 6C and Ibiza BCMs- I believe that the 6C's electrics are more like the Mk.7 Golf's, while the Ibiza's are more like the Mk.6 (and the 6R).

Re: 6C auto door locking
Seems that you are correct, well the Ibiza 6J HW and SW is "6R0" and the Polo 6R 6C1 is "6C0" for the BCM (Central Electronics).
One maybe obvious question, when an option is switchable via the MMI menu, I am correct in thinking that in the BCM it will be coded as "not enabled" when it is currently switched via MMI?
I'm preparing to be brave by constructing an excel book with the BCM location settings, even reminded myself how to convert decimal to HEX and binary!

Re: 6C auto door locking
Umiamz, when you say "(3)" "(4)" and "(18)" what do you mean, in long coding the options are in "byte X" bit Y" - it was only the older module coding that you "add in" numbers, if that is what you meant, which module do you perform adaption in for this these functions. Also which language version of VCDS were you using as I believe that some areas already have the map for the 6C0 BCM, thanks!Umiamz wrote:Only took me a few minutes to enable it on my 6C SEL (and my other half's 6C SE) with VCDS. Re: 6C auto door locking
Right I think that I've changed the central electronics module to change the auto locking from "not active" to "adjustable" - so, to save me looking around, is the "tear wipe" activated from the same module and what, roughly, is that called in German please?
Re: 6C auto door locking
Trying to enable auto-locking on '65' plate Polo GTI, I have been struggling to sort this out.I did need to use the latest VCDS beta (15.3, I believe).
The options for programming it directly are:
(3)-Access control-automatisches Verriegeln bei Geschwindigkeit
(4)-Access control-automatisches Entriegeln
and for enabling the menu:
(18)-Access control-Menuesteuerung ZV Autolock-Unlock
I have followed the above guide using my VCDS, when I try and change it so that either the auto locking is activated (as per 3 & 4) or to try and enable in the cars menus (as per 18), it asks if i want to confirm the change, i click OK, it then comes up with an error saying '' Security access code required'' - can anyone explain this to me please? What is the code meant to be? Havent seen it ask for this before. Also if anyone can please help me to enable the auto-locking I would really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
