Cruise control fitting kit

Post by panason1c »

Hi,
I am thinking about fitting cruise to my 2003 9n 1.9tdi and I've read about poor access to the dreaded plug behind the dash but someone mentioned that I could bypass that plug and therefore avoid removing the dash and connect the wire directly to the ecu under the bonnet.... does anyone have detailed instructions on connecting this wire to the ecu please?
I have searched the internet for an answer but had no luck in finding it.
Thanks

ps... if there is anyone within the Taunton area who is familiar with wiring up a 9n c/c kit and wants to earn a few quid, let me know

I don't know about the process of routing a wire to the ECU but I've fitted this a few years ago and, although a bit fiddly, it is doable. With the steering wheel off and the CCM/relay panel dropped down a bit you can get your arm in so long as you aren't too built... It's a hassle since you can't see what you're doing so need to do it by feel but well worth it!

I might have a picture kicking around. Will have a look.
