For the owners... how are the LED headlamps? I fear that they are not going to be a good idea at all and it really puts me off the car completely. Whats the light output like and for anyone that had xenons before how do they compare?

I talked to a guy with LED headlights. And he turned them on when it was getting dusk out.

The light is really bright and they work great. :)

I'm not completely certain yet. Only had the car since Friday and have not yet (believe it or not) driven in complete darkness. The auto feature has turned them on at dusk a couple of times and when it started to rain one morning and they do seem very bright indeed . Catching reflections of them etc.
They certainly look the business.
I had the xenons in my 6R GTI, so time will tell how these fare against those at night, especially out in the countryside etc.

The car is cracking to drive and I'm reluctant to shove it back in the garage at the end of each day!

They have better light than xenons. Look the part too.
I think the only issue is that the cut-off (part to the fart left and far right of the beams where it usually becomes less and less bright) are more abrupt than in traditional headlights.

But you can always spec one without them.

Hi All,

Ordered my new Polo back at the start of April. Note to self don't go car shopping with a hangover. Originally in red but having scoured this forum and seeing the pearl black opted to change it.

Fairly basic spec having only added the sports pack and winter pack due to not using the cruise too often, the parking sensors drive me round the bend too, fancied the climate control but went for colour change instead.

Was told middle of June for delivery but I expect it will be longer than that.

What are everyones thoughts so far? Have read the reviews but forums are often far better for a proper breakdown.

The LEDs are great! They're super bright and look fantastic. I love seeing them in reflections

Haven't had any cars with xenons before so can't really compare but I'm extremely pleased with these lights :D

Hey Guys!

Today was day, she turned up just before lunchtime. Only had time for a quick blast to get fuel then back to work.

First impressions are it feels like it has a lot more pull than my 6r GTI, manual gearbox is lovely also. Updated in interior is spot on also.

Will get some better pics over the weekend, snapped these in the car park.

Not yet mate, down to resign documents in a few weeks so will check then, not in much of a rush. Although the longer I leave it the more options I seem to want to add.

Nice car mate.

What is the opinion on the electronic climate control? I'm torn, I wanted it initially but in the end left it off. However, I am more tempted than ever to just stick it on.

Wife has the Climate control in her Blue GT and it works really well at keeping a set temperature and is as good as the system in my MK7 Golf GTD (and that's dual zone).

Would always spec this but you do also need the auto lights and wiper pack as well, as it needs the sunlight sensor built into that unit on the windscreen, so not exactly cheap.

Another red, very nice!

One & a half weeks 'till I get mine, my dealer tells me it's being assembled right now but shouldn't take long because it comes from Spain. I thought they were made in South Africa...

I always understood the 3 door was from Spain and the 5 door South Africa. I'm sure someone will correct me if that's wrong.

Congrats to GTILew, enjoy your new car, looking good!
Loving mine, any excuse to drive it at the moment. :D

Thanks guys.

Yup think i'm going to be spending a good chunk of tonight going out for a nice long drive.

I always thought it was Spain for the Polo production for Europe.

Yes - it is 3 door in Spain and 5 door in SA, can add up to 6 weeks delivery time for a 5 door, but the length of time some of you guys have to wait, that could be wildly inaccuarate.

Great looking car GTILew! :D
