I think 5 door B GT's and GTI's are built in Spain, though they may well have to wait for body shells (and doors perhaps) from South Africa.

My latest 5 dr B GT took 5 months from order to delivery.

3dr Polo's are built in Spain and 5dr are built in SA however all GTI s are built in Spain according to VW customer services.

Yes, all 3 & 5 door 6C GTIs are made in Spain.
All 3 & 5 door 6C Blue GTs, Bluemotion, R-Line should be too.

Other 5 door models e.g. SELs are usually made in South Africa, but can be made in Spain too.

You can check your own car by noting the 11th digit of your VIN, which is the VW plant code.
Y = Spain
U = South Africa

Well I popped into my dealer after work.

Good news is that I will only have to pay the pack price for the some of the options instead of the individual price.

He seems to think that I should get the car by the end of the month.

Thank you all for your impressions.
How's the audio quality like?
What is the fuel consumption?

WOW sums it up nicely. Have fun in it, I know I am.

I'm still loving mine . The DSG in this new model is so smooth you only realise it's changed gear sometimes by the change in engine note. The 6R DSG is god awful in comparison.
The audio is good in the new one but wouldn't say it's any better than the 6R.
The wheels and front bumper section of the car are more fiddly to clean than the 6R , but it's a price I'm prepared to pay. :)

Is it a different DSG box in the 6C, or new software, or both?

I have to say, my DSG box is a lot of things, but god awful isn't one of them! My gearbox software was 'flashed' at the last service, but can't say I notice any difference. It's still very smooth, even if sometimes I don't like its decision making! Mind you, that's what the paddles are for I suppose.

I wonder if your old one was a lemon?

Hi guys/girls

First post on the forum, some cracking looking new GTI's you're all receiving.

I am looking to put a deposit down on mine next week, have spec'd it all up and have pretty much decided final spec for it other than the colour! I love the look of the pearl black as currently have it on my UP! And the pictures on here it looks great but also the solid white looks good as well.
Does anyone have any thoughts on which to paint on as I'm stuck deciding?!

Many thanks all

Congrats on your soon to be order!

My current 6R GTI is solid white, which was the last colour on my list when I went looking for one, but I love it now.

Mind you, when I keep specifying a new 6C GTI on the VW website I keep going for the bright blue, which I think is a great colour.

Black and white are still very good staples though, and the red ones in this thread look surprisingly good as well.

Has anyone picked silver for their colour?

That's probably going to be a rare colour.

Just picked mine up tonight. Couple of quick photos:

It's felt like a really long time between ordering and it arriving, but it's certainly been worth the wait!

It's properly quick, and with a huge hit of power even high up the rev range. Brakes are razor sharp, and steering is nice and accurate. Sport mode certainly makes a difference, weighting up the steering well. Is the ride too harsh in Sport? No, end of. Manual 'box is nice and precise, and all the controls just seem even more improved from the 6R.

Also ended up with a cracking deal in the end, which gives me even more money to spend on fuel...

I beat myself up for not choosing silver and going for black. But as soon as I saw one in black it was all good

If the silver was a little bit darker I would be all over that, 'cause this looks awesome!

But in the sun it's a bit too light for my taste.

*Edit
Congrats Redline!
Everyone's been getting theirs this past week, when it rains it pours :D
