Hiya guys,
For the past day i could smell burning coming from the heater vents when the heater is on (either cold or warm) had a look and couldnt find a thing.
Anyway i switched it on today to show my grandad and the smell was there again, switched it off smell gone....went to switch it back on and it doesn't work anymore.
I popped the bonnet and removed the plastic cover from the scuttle area only to find a brown wire that plugs into the heater motor had melted through the white plastic plug...Upon smelling i noticed this is what had been making the smell.
Anyway...Does anyone know what it is(burned out motor? or just earth fault?) or how to fix it? Will i be ok to drive the car about if i don't switch the heater on?
HELP! Somethings Burning!

Reminds me of the situation when I mis-wired my headlamp switch. Brown earth wire melted everything in reach, cabin filled with thick smoke.
Not that that's relevant, nor do I have a solution to your problem other than something shorting onto the earth wire (fan motor shorting out? Running a live cable straight into one of the brown earth cables has drastic effects
