Mine makes loud clicking noises just after turning it off, but no creaking noises. Never thought anything of it other than the car just cooling down.

I hear creaking when I get out.. I think its related to the handbrake..
If i just lift it up enough, it creaks.. If i really pull it up, it doesn't creak..

Take it to the dealer to see if they can look into it.

Hi tomtoon 2015

I suspect that the "creaking" sound you are hearing is the car moving forward fractionally against the handbrake, causing the rear brake pads to alternately slip and grip the disc.

You could check this (after taking all appropriate safety precautions) by asking a helper to push the car gently against the handbrake while you are in the drivers seat covering the foot brake.

Easily remedied - just apply the handbrake one "click" more.

Hope this helps!

Good spot actually as VW said where I had the armrest, it looked like the handbrake wasn't all the way up (bit of a design flaw), however they couldn't find anything after inspecting fully, so will just monitor it :)

Haven't had the issue since, so I'm blaming the obvious design flaws...

Must say I have never had that issue, but the polo armrest is disappointing compared to the golf one! Looks like it was put in as an afterthought!

Agreed the armrest does seem lik an afterthought. But you must have it all the way down for it to interfer with the handbrake. Because I have mine tilted one notch or so forward from level so I have good access to use the gearlever while driving and I have no problems with the handbrake.
