I am thinking about changing the alcantara seats in my blue gt to some recaro pole positions but am wondering what needs to be done with the loom for the seats I.e seatbelt buzzer and heated seats?? Can the seatbelt warning be disabled through vagcom and is it as simple as leaving the wiring under the seat unplugged?
Thanks in advance

You'd also have issues with the airbags. I believe that you're now not allowed to have an airbag error showing when you get your car MOTed, and of course if the side airbags are removed then the computer isn't going to be very happy!
Re: Aftermarket seats in blue gt
I didn't think about airbags! I would put the standard seats back in for mot as they are fixed back seats so would fail the mot anyway! Just want a way to get around error codes if possible

The seatbelt buzzer can be turned of with VAGcom.
And you can put a resistor on the airbag wire so it doesn't show an error.
And then just remove the resistor when bolting back the stock seats for the MOT.

Obviously if you crash your insurance will be null and void unless declared.Mart!n-GTI-DK wrote:The seatbelt buzzer can be turned of with VAGcom.

And you might be dead ......

This is a good point. You really should not have fixed back seats without a rollcage (and therefore helmet). If the car rolls and your seat back is fixed the roof is going to compact onto your head and neck. Not good.Ricmondo wrote:And you might be dead ......
