Trunk mat....

Hey,
Anyone have a good advice for what trunk mat to buy? And from where? Do the mats suit in both levels of the flooring?

I got mine from eBay. They do one for a shallow or deep boot floor. I guess theres no ultimate reason why you couldnt get one of each and have one on both

The flexible boot liner is rubbish, I have one. You would be better off spending your money on the semi-rigid one.

The flexible one is made from a thin and fairly soft material that feels a bit like a yoga or sleeping mat/pad. Doesn't feel very durable. I think I'll change mine to the semi-rigid one that jammydodger mentioned.

The only problem with the better quality, semi-flexible one is that it's designed to sit on the upper shelf only. The cheaper 'yoga mat' one can be ordered for either lower or upper position.

If you mean the shaped with raised side made of a foamed material as the "cheap yoga" version, I bought one of these for wife's 9N Polo 10 or more years ago - local VW dealer was selling them off just to get rid of them, it has served its purpose well, it is very light, has been "dinged" a few times with sharp/hard objects been roughly loaded into the boot. My wife seems to like gardening so ends up placing wet/dirty plans etc into the boot - that is not a problem now that this boot liner is in there, nothing gets through to the boot carpet, just lift the liner out and shake it, plus maybe brush off what is left and wipe clean, boot back to being clean enough to dump jackets etc into. Trouble is, especially with a small car, if you load it up with things like durable rubber mats and boot liners, you end up carrying around a lot more dead weight.
