New GTI
Re: New GTI
For those who already have the GTI, this might sound like a daft question but does the entertainment system have an SD card slot?

Re: New GTI
Tbh I use an sd as it's out of the way in the glove box and leaves the usb port free to charge the phone if it needs it.

Re: New GTI
Car arrived at dealership this past Saturday, pick up next Sunday. Long week ahead. That is over 2 weeks ahead of estimated delivery so some positive news for those awaiting arrivals perhaps.

128 GB SDXC worked fine for me. There is a thread on this subject entitled :-Andy4791 wrote:Sounds good idea, any idea up to what Gigabyte card it takesDink wrote:Tbh I use an sd as it's out of the way in the glove box and leaves the usb port free to charge the phone if it needs it.

Re: New GTI
Hi all, I just came from the vw shop. No news. The car left the factory in Spain on the 26th.It is a 12 hours drive from here in Luxembourg. Since them, I have not had any news. The salesman is telling me that it is impossible for him to tell me where the car is or when will it arrive. I have my doubts about it.
The problem is that I am waiting for the car to take it to Spain for vacations. Tomorrow I will go again and if he tells me the same s**t I will tell him not to worry and keep it there until half september when I come back from Spain. I dont think that he will like to have the car there for more than two months. So far I have not paid one cent.

Re: New GTI
I've read a few reviews that recommend using premium unleaded. What type of fuel are you guys using in your new GTI's?

Re: New GTI
The filler cap indicates that the fuel to use is 95 RON, and the manual states "The vehicle may be filled with petrol that has a higher octane number than the engine requires. However this does not provide any advantage in terms of fuel consumption or engine output"Bobby1873 wrote:I've read a few reviews that recommend using premium unleaded. So I'm sticking to the 95 RON stuff and the car seems perfectly quick enough to me
Re: New GTI
I always run my cars on V Power or Tesco 99, MUCH better for your car, just be wary of which 'premium' fuels you use, e.g. BP ultimate is a lower RON than V Power, but usually more expensive etc, and ESSO and other brands that have premium fuels are normally only 96-97 RON rather than 99.Penarth Blues wrote:The filler cap indicates that the fuel to use is 95 RON, and the manual states "The vehicle may be filled with petrol that has a higher octane number than the engine requires. Re: New GTI
Thanks for the link and it was an interesting watch. What I got out of that though was that you'd struggle to feel any difference between the better fuels and the cheapest fuels in normal driving. What would be more interesting is if there were any definitive tests that showed the higher RON fuels protected your engine any better. I'm willing to believe this might be more beneficial long-term if there was any evidence it was true.Gaz W wrote:I always run my cars on V Power or Tesco 99, MUCH better for your car, just be wary of which 'premium' fuels you use, e.g.
