I did this when buying a car for my wife. They actually beat it by an extra £500 as they'd obviously lost a few customers to DTD and Carwow. Not all stealerships will match the quotes, but can't hurt to try.JohnNW wrote:Have bought several cars through DtD, including current B GT and A6 Allroad. No problems whatsoever and they are generally the cheapest around.
You could also try Carwow and/or take the DtD quote to a VW dealer near you and see if they'll match it.
I did the same, including getting a quote from "orangewheels" - and as I am located in central Scotland, just added in £500 allowance for collecting the car (as all low prices were based around South coast) - and told my dealer that that was price - "just same yes or no" - they agreed to my terms and so got my business. I'd guess that it should not be a big surprise to anyone to the best dealers are never on their own door step, maybe the dealers or importers make sure that this is the way things will pan out.duffman wrote:Didn't buy through them but used their quote and carwow quote to negotiate with my local dealer, who got very close to the DTD price, so went with them as they are very close and gave me a very good service.
Typically, yes as all these brokers are doing is supplying a willing dealer with a sale opportunity - at a price.Mikeyander5on wrote:Thanks for all your replies I have enquired about finance through this deal, I take it the finance will be between me and vw finance?

To be honest, I can't imagine a dealer giving you anything back. If you've signed for the deal on a new car and then found a better offer since then, that's not their fault, you can't expect them to change the agreed upon price. Depends on how much difference there is between the price you paid and the quote you have online now. I suppose you could cancel your order and replace the order, but I can't see them being too amenable to that - I'd like to be proved wrong though! Let us know how you get onMikeyander5on wrote:I think my best bet is just to talk to my dealer and explain the quote I have been given and leave it in there court, even if my dealer offered me a complimentary sat nav or something I would be happy
