My GTI was ordered last week in June, I had a confirmed build week that was last week. Not heard anything and the track my VW hasn't changed. Has this happened to anyone else?
Cant wait to get it! Some of the reviews and pictures on here have been great!
Cheers!
Mine was due for build w/c 31 August.
I heard nothing until Thursday when it suddenly changed to being in transit.
Guess yours might change the same tomorrow, as it may have been built right at the end of the week.

The tracker is slow to update, if you tweet VW with your order no they'll give you a more accurate progress update.
Had my first commute today in my Polo GTI and just found it great fun on what is normally a fairly boring run. Just feels like a proper little sports car. Got to try out a bit of quick overtaking (safely and within the speed limit of course!) and cruise control is something I've not had before and can see why this will be great on long hauls. Goes round roundabouts very nicely as if cornering on rails. I'm normally not one to wax lyrical about a car but have to make an exception in this case. It's nice when you feel you have made the right choice!
Great stuff m8 glad your finding it fun. Everyone who has reported on em on here seems to be well impressed. Mines due to be built this week, but on email i had says next so could be either lol. Was thinking today what a shame i dont have mine yet as im off all week, weather is nice so could have given it a proper detail...oh well

The best way to describe the car that I could find is 'eager'. It's quite happy to potter along but if you want to play, it wants to play too...
Very surefooted and reassuring. The only time I've ever had any sort of 'not quite in control' moment was when I'd put it into 'Sport' mode and going around a bend the steering pulled me in much quicker than I'd expected - like a bit of oversteer... Once you know it's coming though you can use it to best effect

To me it's very bouncy in sport mode. I'm a fan of the sound it makes but sounds a lot quieter then in the videos I've seen so maybe it's just a placebo and there's no sound difference!? I definitely can't here any fake noise coming from the car. Or it doesn't sound that way anyway.
I don't have the sport button largely because the roads around here are very poor. Someone else in Norfolk who has the sports button doesn't use it because the ride becomes too bouncy although I imagine it would be good for track days. Without it the ride is firm but not overly so. The stereo is great.

Bouncy is a fair way to describe it - basically every imperfection in the road is translated into vertical movement. The exhaust sounds a tiny bit louder but the big difference is in the steering to me. I can't feel that much difference in the throttle response and agree with Norfolk Boy that the firmness of the 'standard' setting is firm enough and actually gives a really nice ride in almost all situations. I certainly don't feel the car rolls at all through corners in this setting
I don't use the sport button very often because of the bounce and I'm not that keen on the fake boomy engine noise. As mine is DSG I just nudge back the gearstick which puts it in sport but without the suspension setting changing.
However in sport mode wind your windows down and floor it and listen to the exhaust.....lovely.
Andy4791 wrote:So is the sport button 245 quid wasted,or still a worthwhile option wen the roads are right an u feel like it
I think this will be an individual preference. I like the fact it is there and it does make the car sharper all round. It's probably a bit much for everyday driving but if you want to go round bends quicker it certainly helps with that. For £245 it'll also help with onwards sale I'd think with potential new owners wanting the 'go faster' button on a GTI
