Re: New GTI
With all this heat on VW over their diesel car emissions I wonder if any new diesel car builds will be put on hold, meaning our GTIs might get built sooner? Maybe that's just wishful thinking

Re: New GTI
On a serious note, there could be all sorts of ramifications from this - most of which would be good for owners of petrol engine cars.
A news item today suggests emissions in use are 4 times those in the lab from diesels and that has been a major improvement in the last 2 years from where it was. I can see them banning diesels completely from town centres, meaning petrol or electric cars would become more popular again. This would also inevitably lead to a loss of value in diesel vehicles which may cost VW a fortune in compensation to owners, let alone fines to regulators.
Overall, I'm quite pleased to have got my car now because I can see a surge towards petrol/electric cars in the wake of this and the other manufacturers who are yet to be caught. Step forward BMW, Mercedes, the rest of the VW group, etc., etc... Don't think that other manufacturers don't know what's going on here. So you have to ask why they haven't said anything in response to a threat to their market share...
The motoring world's going to get very interesting over the next few weeks

Re: New GTI
My status has also updated today, jumped from 3 of 7 confirmed build week to 5a of 7, in transit left factory! Excited but wasn't expecting to be that quick, need to sell my other motor now pronto!
I'm guessing still about 3-4 weeks though before collection reading other posts?

Re: New GTI
Is anyone with their gti noticing alot of juddering when setting off in start stop traffic?
I think it might be where ive been used to driving a diesel but i can keep the gas in the same position and the revs will bounce up and down making it very jerky at low speed

No - but I also have a diesel and it does take me a while to readjust between each car.polocks wrote:manualdunc85 wrote:Is that manual or DSG?polocks wrote:Is anyone with their gti noticing alot of juddering when setting off in start stop traffic?

Re: New GTI
Call off dealer tonight, told me what I already know. Car built and in transit. Think he said was at stage 30. Predicted middle of October as worst case for delivery.

Re: New GTI

Re: New GTI
No m8, like I say dealer rang yesterday but told me more or less what I knew from tracker. Was saying if it just missed a boat it could add ten days on and the boat takes 4 days to load and offload. Can see why its 4 weeks from build to deliveryBobby1873 wrote:has anyone who's GTI is in transit had any more updates or changes?

Re: New GTI
I think they must be scuttling the ship to claim the insurance!
Mine was built 3 weeks ago but the dealer still can't confirm its location.
